Oct. 20 Candlelight Vigil, A Woman’s Voice
Wearing purple is far more than a fashion statement; it’s a life choice. The October Go Purple Campaign by the Putnam Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center asks residents to wear purple on Wednesday, Oct. 19 to highlight the need to raise awareness and take further steps to prevent domestic and dating violence. Wear purple on Thursday, Oct. 20 and join members of People Against Domestic Violence (PADV) on the stairs of the Putnam’s Historical Courthouse on Gleneida Ave. in Carmel at 6 p.m. for a Candlelight Vigil to honor domestic violence victims and to show your support for the cause. Afterwards, walk to nearby Knights of Columbus Hall on Fair St. to hear survivors’ stories.

Happy One-Year Anniversary to Eventful!
Last October, Eventful Magazine was launched in Putnam County with the goal of showing local readers how much the county has to offer and provide fun things to do with your families. Over the past year, we’ve gotten a ton of e-mail and letters thanking us for doing just that. But really, we are the ones who are thankful for every reader, advertiser and supporter we have.

This month, we are happy to announce that Northern Westchester residents will be getting Eventful Magazine for their area as well.

We are also very grateful for the team that makes the magazine as great as it is. We look foward to many more years being a part of our community.
