Professional Women of Putnam Providing Opportunities
Things have moved quickly since small business owner Jamie Imperati created “The Professional Women of Putnam” in 2010. The PWP is a networking group for professional women of Putnam County, providing its membership with a broad array of opportunities for networking, information sharing and professional development.
The organization felt a need for local business women to have a place where they could focus on their business, network, and discuss issues and challenges they face while helping support other women and helping them grow their businesses. The PWP encourages women from a variety of trades to connect and support one another in a non-competitive environment for continued growth opportunities.
Annual membership dues are a low $69. The fee is kept low to allow more women to join while keeping an assortment of big business, small business and not-for-profits active in monthly activities. Membership includes an online directory listing, monthly networking, use of the PWP logo on websites and in advertising, spotlight features, discounted health insurance, message board forums, and experienced guest speakers. Monthly lunch/dinner meetings are an additional $30 to $35 a month, which includes peer-to-peer networking opportunities as well as educational speakers. Members have the opportunity to share common problems and solutions monthly in person or online.
Sister groups Professional Women of Connecticut (PWC) and Professional Women of Westchester (PWW) followed PWP, making Imperati’s three organizations’ membership total more than 250 women.
